Marc Nathan is an experienced connector in the startup community who supports all forms of entrepreneurship across Texas. Throughout his career, Marc has assisted hundreds of companies with business strategy, capital acquisition, marketing, customer development, strategic partnerships and product development.
Marc founded T-Squared Agency, a boutique consulting firm that supports selected clients with comprehensive funding strategies and the means to execute growth. Through T-Squared, Marc launched the Texas-Squared Startup Newsletter and the Texas-Boxed CPG Newsletter which cover startup news, opinions, and events that affect the startup tech and Consumer Packaged Goods communities respectively. Marc also hosts the monthly OpenCoffee Club (Tech) and Wake Up! Meetups (CPG) that gather entrepreneurs, investors, and service providers in a casual morning setting.
Marc serves as the Senior Director of Market Development for Michael Best & Friedrich LLP. As a deeply experienced and connected leader in the Texas technology startup community, Marc assists Michael Best’s Venture Best practice’s early-stage clients with fundraising strategy, including connecting with angel and VC investors, structuring financing rounds, and general strategic advisory with respect to seed and early-stage fundraising. Marc also enjoys facilitating connections between founders and other advisors, executives, and service providers throughout the various ecosystems in which he works.
Marc has formerly held the position of Managing Director for the State of Texas at the equity crowdfunding platform SeedInvest. He was the Director of Business Development for Forthea, where he helped numerous clients across several industries generate sales leads from online marketing campaigns. Marc has held the position of Vice President of Strategy for ChaiONE, where he worked with enterprise and startup companies to create, develop, and market digital products and services. He was also a partner at Kain Management Group, where he matched talented technology and sales professionals to forward-thinking firms. Marc started his career as the founder of Bulldog Financial, a professional angel investment and venture consulting firm and has served as the Director of Entrepreneur Development at the Houston Technology Center.
Marc focuses on startup and early stage growth companies in diverse market sectors such as ecommerce, enterprise software, and consumer packaged goods. Marc is a frequent public speaker and thought leader on startups and emerging businesses. He is also an active mentor, coach, and advisor of several community organizations, incubators and accelerators including Capital Factory, Houston Technology Center, Startup Houston, Only in Houston, Support Local, Grow Together (#SLGT), Greater Houston Partnership, Houston Exponential, Houston Innovation Initiative, Houston Angel Network, Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, South by Southwest, NetSquared, BarCamp and the Houston Inventors Association.
