Melanie Wilson is the President & CEO of Cancer Care Services, an 80-year old nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance, navigation,  psychosocial support, and other critical services to cancer patients,  survivors, and caregivers throughout Tarrant County.

A two-time cancer survivor and longtime caregiver, Wilson brings both  professional expertise and personal experience to her leadership. During her tenure, the number of clients served annually has increased by  196%, from 877 to 2,592. The organization's endowment has grown from $1.56 million to more  than $4 million, while total assets have increased from $3.4 million to $6.3 million.

Under her leadership, Cancer Care Services has expanded its programs to include survivorship  navigation, enhanced caregiver support, Community Health Workers, cancer disparities  initiatives, spiritual support services, and expanded financial assistance programs. In 2018, the  organization was designated the lead agency for the Tarrant County Cancer Disparities  Coalition.

Cancer Care Services has received numerous honors during Wilson's tenure, including  recognition as one of the 50 Best Nonprofits to Work For in the United States by The NonProfit  Times, multiple Best Companies to Work For awards from Fort Worth Inc. magazine, designation  as a Best Place for Working Parents, and Organization of the Year recognition from the DFW  Community Health Workers Association.

Wilson was honored as a Great Woman of Texas by the Fort Worth Business Press in recognition  of her contributions to the nonprofit sector and the community. She also served as President & CEO of the National Multiple  Sclerosis Society's North Central Texas Chapter (33 counties), where her team earned multiple  national awards for excellence in event sponsorship, event marketing, health programs, and  family programs.
