CeCe Cox of Resource Center to be featured at DallasMeetup

The team at DallasMeetup is excited to announce CeCe Cox, Chief Executive Officer of Resource Center, is the latest Featured Networker debut joining DallasMeetup at Texas Live!

Cece Cox is an attorney and CEO of Resource Center, one of the nation’s largest LGBTQIA+ service organizations, where she has led transformative initiatives to expand health, advocacy, and housing services. Resource Center reaches more than 60,000 people annually with the support of nearly 100 employees and 1,200 volunteers. Under her leadership, Resource Center opened Oak Lawn Place in July 2024, an 84-unit affordable housing complex for individuals age 55+. Senior Housing | Resource Center

In 2025, Cox oversaw the expansion of health services and the opening of Resource Center Health, a comprehensive health center that brings primary care, pharmacy services, and affirming care under one roof, and is directly across the street from Oak Lawn Place senior housing. Cox said, “In 1983, Resource Center was born out of a need to combat discrimination and a life-threatening virus, and while we have experienced progress, both of those circumstances still exist. Resource Center remains committed to face any challenge head-on and serve our communities with care and compassion.”

Cox has been a leading advocate for LGBTQIA+ communities for nearly four decades, shaping nondiscrimination protections for Dallas public employees and students and advancing civil rights policies at the local and state levels. She joined Resource Center in 2007 and became CEO in 2010 after careers in photography and commercial law.

Her leadership extends nationally as a former co-chair of CenterLink, and locally through board or advisory service with Visiting Nurse Association of Texas, Dallas Mavericks, Texas Women’s Foundation, Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law, and other organizations. Widely recognized for her impact, Cox has received numerous awards, including D Magazine’s 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders, Dallas Historical Society’s Jubilee History Maker Award, Distinguished Alumni of SMU’s Dedman School of Law, and LGBTQ Texan of the Year from Dallas Voice.

Cox is also a published photographer and co-author of One.Million.Strong, documenting the 1993 March on Washington for LGBTQ rights. A proud alumna of Northwestern University and SMU’s Dedman School of Law, she lives in Dallas with her wife, Shelly Skeen, and has one son.
