Featured Networker: Know Before You Go
You’re a Featured Networker. Now what?
TL;DR:

Being selected as a DallasMeetup Featured Networker is about more than having your name on a list.
You’ve been highlighted as someone our community should know — and in the weeks that lead up to DallasMeetup, we’ll be introducing you to tens of thousands of professionals across DFW.
Now it’s time to make the most of it.
Here’s everything you need to know about your promotion, how to amplify it, and what to expect when you arrive at DallasMeetup.
1. Your Featured Networker Promotion
As a Featured Networker, DallasMeetup has created and distributed content designed to introduce you and your organization to our community.
DallasMeetup Website Feature
Your feature lives on DallasMeetup.com/news, giving you a shareable piece of content that you can continue using beyond the event.
Social Media Promotion
Featured Networkers are highlighted across DallasMeetup's social channels leading into the event.
DallasMeetup Email Promotion
Featured Networkers have been introduced to DallasMeetup's email audience as part of our event marketing.
Event Recognition
Your Featured Networker status carries into the event itself, helping attendees identify the people and organizations we think they should meet.
The goal is simple: People should know who you are before they ever walk through the door.
2. Amplify Your Feature*
DallasMeetup starts the conversation. You can dramatically increase its reach.
When your Featured Networker announcement goes live, share it with your own network. *Your feature is linked below your name on the Event Page.
This is the most important place to amplify your feature.
When DallasMeetup tags you:
Like the post. Comment on it. Then repost it.
Adding your own perspective is even better.
Tell people why you're participating, what you're excited about, or who you'd like to meet.
A personal post will almost always outperform simply sharing a link.
Tag People
Tag DallasMeetup, your organization, colleagues who are attending, and people you think should join you.
Every interaction helps introduce the event — and you — to another part of the DFW community.
Share Your Article
Your DallasMeetup feature isn't just event promotion.
It's a piece of media about you.
Share the article on LinkedIn, send it to your team, include it in your company newsletter, or use it anywhere else you communicate with your network.
Invite Your Network
Some of the best connections at DallasMeetup happen because someone says:
"You need to come to this with me."
Invite clients. Invite colleagues. Invite friends. Invite people you've been meaning to reconnect with.
DallasMeetup gets better when great people bring great people.
3. The Best Way to Share
Don't overthink it.
A simple personal post works:
"Excited to be featured by DallasMeetup ahead of the upcoming event at Texas Live! Looking forward to connecting with people across DFW and representing [ORGANIZATION]. If you're attending, come find me!"
Then include your Featured Networker article or the DallasMeetup registration page.
Even better: tell people why they should find you.
4. Before You Arrive
A little preparation goes a long way.
Register
Make sure you're registered for the event even if you've already been announced as a Featured Networker: Register
Your Featured Networker designation does not replace your event registration.
Check the Parking & Arrival Instructions
Before leaving, visit the DallasMeetup parking page for the latest parking, entrance and arrival information. dallasmeetup.com/parking
Arrival Time
Featured Networkers are busy people. While we’d love to see you there right at 5PM CST, we’ll take you when we can get you! The event is officially 5-8PM, with many staying long into the evening thereafter. We do advise that typically there are several hundred gathered by 5PM, so plan your parking and arrivals accordingly.
5. When You Arrive
Step 1: Skip the line
You have your own check-in station
Step 2: Get Your Name Tag
Your name tag is one of the most important tools you'll have all night.
Wear it somewhere visible and make it easy for people to identify you.
Step 3: Find the Featured Networker Area
A member of our team will escort you to the Featured Networker VIP gathering area to sign custom DallasMeetup art, pose for photo opps and network amongst your peers.
Step 4: Start Meeting People
Don't wait for the "official" networking to begin.
The people standing next to you at check-in, at the bar or walking into the venue are part of the event too.
Start talking.
6. How to DallasMeetup
There is no complicated agenda.
DallasMeetup is designed around one thing:
Meeting people.
You don't need to work the entire room.
You don't need to collect 50 business cards.
And you definitely don't need to deliver your elevator pitch to everyone you meet.
The best networkers aren't the people who meet the most people.
They're the people other attendees remember meeting.
7. Being a Featured Networker
Your Featured Networker designation gives you an advantage:
People have already been introduced to you.
Some attendees may recognize your name, company or face from DallasMeetup's promotion.
Make yourself accessible.
Introduce yourself to people you don't know. Welcome first-time attendees. Connect people who should know each other.
And if someone says:
"Hey, I saw you on DallasMeetup..."
Our job worked.
Take it from there.
8. Capture the Moment
If you see a DallasMeetup photographer or videographer, don't be shy. Get the photo. Grab your team. Take pictures with the people you're meeting.
Share your experience during or after the event and tag DallasMeetup so we can see and amplify it.
Your Featured Networker promotion doesn't have to end when the event does.
9. Most Importantly: Enjoy It
DallasMeetup isn't a conference. There aren't breakout sessions to rush between or an agenda you need to follow. Grab a drink. Explore the venue. Meet someone completely outside your industry. Reconnect with someone you haven't seen in years. Introduce two people who should know each other. And have fun.
You were selected as a Featured Networker because we believe you're someone the Dallas community should know. Now go meet Dallas.
We'll see you at DallasMeetup.
